The company was founded as the Peterson-West Music Company by longtime musicians Pearl West and Pete Peterson in 1941. The partnership was short lived as the outbreak of the United States' involvement in World War II led to a shortage of instruments, which led Pearl to open a small instrument repair shop called West Music in 1942. The company's involvement in musical education for children began the same year as Pearl worked as a woodwind specialist at a local high school by day and pursued his instrument repair business by night. He opened his first store after the war ended in 1945, and business took off from there. The West Music Return Policy
West Music accepts returns on products within 45 days of purchase. You must call the shop's customer service department to request a Return Authorization number prior to returning your product. Have your original packing slip ready as the shop will need it to issue you an RA number. Write this RA number on your return shipping label as the shop may reject your return or have issues processing it if you fail to do so. Defective merchandise may be returned for up to a year following their dates of purchase.
