Holiday Shopping Survey 2015 recently did a survey of 1,345 US consumers, asking about their plans for holiday shopping in 2015. The results of the survey give an intriguing and occasionally surprising look into American’s plans for holiday shopping.

Who’s Shopping Christmas Deals Online?

Only 23.5 percent of respondents plan to shop in store on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, whereas 31 percent reported they plan to stick to shopping online.

Women Are Slightly More Likely to Shop Online

62 percent of female survey respondents indicated that they plan on shopping online this holiday season. Compare that to 58 percent of men who plan to shop online.

Shopping Online Isn’t for Everyone

The following data shows the percentage of each age group that does not plan to do their Christmas shopping online in 2015:

  • 18-24: 45%
  • 25-34: 32.1%
  • 35-44: 32%
  • 45-54: 36.1%
  • 55-64: 40.6%
  • 65: 62.4%
