Attend Away Games and Enjoy Baseball in Style

Are you or a loved one a Yankees or Red Sox fan?

Marlins, maybe? Dodgers, perhaps?

If so, read on. There are still a ton of away games left this year where you can save hundreds of dollars watching your favorite teams.

Couponbox recently published a comprehensive MLB Stadium Index which ranks stadiums across the country according to the cost of premium tickets, average drink prices and hot dogs.  Yankee Stadium, Fenway Park, Marlins Park and Dodger Stadium are the most expensive MLB venues to enjoy a premium experience, so fans of these teams stand to save the most.

However, fans of any team can save big money on MLB tickets using the index. Learn how you can save buckets of cash on MLB tickets by attending away games:

While Traveling for Business or Vacation

The MLB Stadium Index can come in handy for frequent flyers who regularly visit cities with MLB stadiums for work or pleasure.

For example, if you’re a Yankees fan from New York and just happen to be visiting Anaheim in August, you can watch the Yankees play at Angel Stadium from premium seats and save $222.60 compared to doing the same at Yankees stadium.

Keep your schedule and that of your favorite teams in sync and save on MLB tickets with the stadium index.

By Hopping on a Bus or Driving to Nearby Cities

This method of saving on MLB tickets is a bit more complicated and requires more planning. However the stadium index makes the pricing comparison easy.

The five most affordable premium MLB tickets are found in Milwaukee ($46.16), Denver ($48.51), San Diego ($49.81), Baltimore ($50.53) and Atlanta ($51.91).

Using the travel website Wanderu, you can find the cheapest bus fares to these cities. If you have a car, you can plan an MLB road trip using the index, though it is more expensive than taking the bus.

The stadium index gives the examples below, but you can create your own trips based on your location.

#1. Yankees fans can visit Oriole Park in Baltimore and save $461.22.

#2. Marlins fans can visit Turner Field in Atlanta and save $167.54.

#3. Red Sox fans can visit Rogers Centre in Toronto and save $167.50.

#4. Cubs fans can visit Miller Park in Milwaukee and save $153.28.

#5. Dodgers fans can visit Petco Park in San Diego and save $144.78.

#6. Nationals fans can visit PNC Park in Pittsburgh and save $99.86.

Bonus: This year, the MLB All Star game is in San Diego at Petco Park on July 12th. That means that fans from around the country can save an average of $55.00 on premium MLB tickets watching the American League and National League play for home field advantage.

While Buying Gifts for Loved Ones

Not a baseball fan, but a friend or family member is?

If so, you might have no clue about which stadium is which. In that case, the MLB Stadium Index will be extremely helpful to you if you want to gift someone with enjoyment of the national pastime.

Not only does the index show the prices of premium MLB tickets for every stadium, it also shows the average prices of drinks (both beer and soft drinks) and the cost of everyone’s favorite baseball food—hot dogs.

Sorry, no prices on peanuts and Cracker Jacks.

Save money by attending your favorite team's away games.
